Kemper Snowboards was officially founded in 1987 by David Kemper, they quickly became one of the biggest brands in snowboarding history, then got sold off and ultimately closed in the 1990s. In the winter of 2018, however, the brand was relaunched by Jib Hunt, a former professional snowboarder.

Kemper now sticks with their original 80s aesthetic, with lots of bright neon-colored designs, but they are not just all looks. They use the latest technology and designs to provide boards that are stiff and often with a sintered base; this helps ensure stability and speed, as well as easy wax-absorption.
